Green Office
We have a vision of becoming a green company that is environmentally friendly and socially responsible. In its efforts towards sustaining the environment for the generations to come, NIZAM is committed towards adopting the best practices necessary to ensure a greener society. For achieving this purpose, we have collaborated with WWF-Pakistan and introduced Green Office Initiative at our workplace and business practices; a program aiming for Environmental Sustainability. Some of the key projects undertaken as part of the scheme are:
• Reducing the consumption of the natural resources by improving offices’ environmental efficiency
• Reducing energy and paper consumption cost
• Promoting sustainable practices by increasing environmental awareness of employees through environmental advocacy seminars and trainings workshops
• Promoting climate change mitigation by requiring energy saving and use of renewable energy sources
Waste Water Treatment
We convert waste water that is no longer needed or is no longer suitable for use – into bilge water that can be discharged back into the environment. Waste water is full of contaminants including bacteria, chemicals and other toxins. The treatment aims at reducing the contaminants to acceptable level to make the water safe for discharge back into the environment.
Energy is future, make it bright!
Solar power has become a sustainable and cost-effective energy having a positive effect on society as it reduces water pollution, hazardous waste and air pollution. We continuously strive towards lessening our impact on the environment and making a positive difference in the communities we operate in. We have efficaciously reduced our impact by 20% since last year by installing clean energy systems at our facilities to help combat greenhouse gas emissions, reduce our collective dependence on fossil fuel and electric-power carbon footprint.
Community Service
As part of our CSR initiatives, NIZAM semiannually hold blood drives where employees donate blood for the treatment of chronic blood diseases and seek to save precious lives through blood donations, also, to address the shortage of blood. The drive is held at NIZIAM Offices in cooperation with the Indus Hospital. The initiative is a simple action that does not require many resources but that has high social impact.
Transforming Education
We are more than just a business; we are part of a global community. We strive to become an active and responsible member of the communities in which we operate and a responsible global citizen that contributes towards supporting our local communities by addressing basic needs like education. We believe that every child has a right to education and for that purpose we have collaborated with The Garage School which is a non-profit initiative by Safi Benevolent Trust in their mission to uplift the community through provision of quality education, healthcare and lifestyle. We believe it’s vital to ignite young people’s imagination who are striving hard to learn, hoping that one day we will become the change we wish to see in the world.
